9-Nov the videogame

After the official call for the referendum the 9N, the political situation in Catalonia is tense, and we want to add our vision of the overall issue.

Guide your vote through media and institutional pollution, avoid the verbal outbursts and reach the polls on 9N. Voting is normal, although it will not be easy. Good luck !!

Donattello Workshop May of 2014

Invitation to the next Donattello Workshop. Next Thursday, May 22  at 11:00 at 6.48 of Facultat de Física, UB, C. de Martí i Franquès, 1

Interactive Presentations and Virtual Labs with Donattello.

Aula 648

One of the most pressing challenges of science is the diffusion of our research to society in the Information Era, that has grown used to virtual experiences and interactive content. Scientific community still rely on the static slide-show format for both teaching or diffusion, wasting the powerful capabilities of modern computers. The creation of interactive material is usually perceived as too time consuming or hard in programming skills.

In this one-session workshop I would like to present  "Donattello Show": A small software package that run on the free-to-use game engine Unity3D.  Donattello puts all the ease and power of the game engine to the service of any scientist. You will realise how, with enough training, can be even more confortable to work with than power-points or latex-based packages.

I encourage to assist to this workshop with your laptop (with either Windows or Mac OS, not Linux yet) to start working with Donattello and prepare your own material.

With Unity3D and this package you will be able to:
- Create animated slide sets of text, image, 3D objects and interactive elements, organized as a classical slide show.
- Plot customizable graphics based on functions or selected columns from your data.
- Implement interactive real time models.
- Virtualize and reproduce real experiments from recorded data.

Software required:
- Unity3D game engine (4.0 or above): http://unity3d.com/unity/download
- Donattello pre-alpha unity package: http://tanokagames.blogspot.com/p/donattello.html

Donattello: Using Unity as a presentation tool

In the era of interactivity and virtual worlds, most of the infographic material for scientific business or commercial presentations consist in boring static slide shows.
3D engines like Unity can be used to change this paradigm. We are glad to introduce our Donattello experimental Unity package, intended to help speakers to easily prepare interactive material for their presentations.

We perform regular free training workshops to small groups.
The next one will be soon announced here!

In Gauge Space

We are proud to present our black beast; the monster; the abomination; the nightmare of our design capabilities.

All indy companies have this first project that grow too much to be handled with. Ours is InGameSpace. We hope to finish it some day. So we need a little push. If you like it, comment it!

Alpha Demo of Burning Rain: Tactics

We are proud to present you one of our first projects under development.

This 2 player mobile-intended game can be understood as a crossover between turn-based strategy Game and a table game such as Battleship.

We have published a Alpha test scenary with a basic set of units and a rudementary GUI for "2-players-in-one-machine". We are currently working to  implement a "human-vs-machine" and a "multiplatform-multiplayer". But first of all we want to polish the gameplay.

Have fun!

Here we are again!

It's hard to start over, but we need a place to keep up to date our progress and this place is as good as no other free service have shown to be.

After an unfruitful experience with a second web provider we start again a temporal webpage for Tanokas!

Tanoka Games is a young two-men game development team, founded by a talented 3d artist and engineer and a promising theoretical and computational physicist.

We understand games as the upcoming and already incipient artistic revolution: an inmersive media intended to deliver sensations in a way that classic artistic fields are unable to transfer. To fulfil such  level of mastery requires, not the chains of a high budget and strict schedules, but clear concepts, strong determination and lots of time.

We're still struggling to take off, quite far to finish any project wet. But we've been working hard to build solid fundations of assets, scripts, engines and, most important, expertise in the field: not closing ourselves a single door in genre, theme, pacing nor target, just to learn as much as we can to deliver the right experience and strike the right emotion.

In this space we won't only report the advance in our projects, but also share this expertise and thoughts around gaming. I hope you will enjoy it.

news and free to play demos are coming soon,
so stay tuned!
